Minister of Health and Human Services Conducts Year End Island Visits
Minister of Health and Human Services, Hon. Porsha Stubbs-Smith commenced her year-end island visits to the various departments within the Ministry of Health On Saturday, 6 December 2014,
The aim of the visits were to assess the facilities and to ensure that Departments were fully equipped with the necessary tools to perform their roles effectively.
The Minister was accompanied by, Permanent Secretary for Health and Human Services and appropriate Heads of Departments for each respective unit and/or department within the Ministry of Health.
Hon. Stubbs-Smith said; “It was good to be able to visit with all the staff members, patients, heads of departments and various personnel involved with doing such a great job within the Ministry of Health and Human Services and TCIG.
“Touring the islands like this will assist greatly with the strategic planning for the Ministry and gives us the opportunity to hear and address concerns involved in our operations. Based on what we’ve seen and heard thus far, I feel confident in my governments’ ability to take immediate action in scrutinizing and addressing any concerns that have been raised.”
The Minister visited South Caicos, North Caicos, Middle Caicos and some departments on Grand Turk and Providenciales. She will reconvene her island visits in January 2015 as some departments were not visited due to unavailability.
