#TurksandCaicos, June 18, 2024 – THREE men, namely: ANTHONY CLARKE, RYAN SMITH, AND LORENZO GERBEX were all committed to trial on the evidence police say they allegedly extracted from the late JUMILLO ISMA cellphone confiscated in July 2023.

At the separate Sufficiency Hearing (SH) proceedings for each of the named defendants, her Ladyship, the Hon Chief Justice, Mrs. Mable Agyemang found sufficient evidence to send each to trial.

All three are charged with conspiring with JUMILLO ISMA, who was shot to death, while he was a person of interest to the Royal TCI Police and others to supply either firearm(s), ammunition and/or drugs.

Anthony Clarke has Mr. Oliver Smith KC as counsel, while Ryan Smith and Lorenzo Gerbex are represented by senior defense counsel Mrs. Lara Maroof Misick.

Maroof Misick did challenge the sufficiency on behalf of her client Ryan Smith, but this was rejected by the Chief Justice and he was sent to trial just as the other two men who did not challenge the SH process.

Bail for each of the alleged three co-conspirators was extended, and the matters were sent separately to the next Plea and Directions Hearing (PDH) for June 28, 2024.
