The main mandate of the Department of Library Services is to extend our reach, impact, and relevance to diverse communities, ensuring equitable access to information, resources, and opportunities for lifelong learning and community engagement. Through strategic outreach efforts and collaborative partnerships, the Department is striving to meet the evolving needs of our communities and enhance the quality of life for all residents.

Our extension activities have long been a staple item among our list of programmes and services offered. At the top of this list is storytelling which is an essential and enjoyable activity for small children because it promotes holistic development across multiple domains. It ignites their imagination, nurtures their emotional intelligence, and lays the groundwork for Literacy and academic success. By incorporating storytelling into our menu of children programmes, the Department has been providing the children with invaluable experiences that will no doubt enrich their lives and support their growth and development.

Through a collaborative effort with the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force and the Rotaract Club of Grand Turk, the Victoria Public Library will be hosting story time for children under the age of 8 years old on the second and third Saturday of each month.

Registration is now open for what promises to be some very exciting and fun filled Saturday afternoons. For more information, please contact the library via email at victoriapubliclibrary1@gmail.com or call (649)946-2716
