#DisneyLookoutCay#Bahamas, March 26th, 2024 – The Bahamas’ exciting and brand new Disney Lookout Cay is nearly finished as it undergoes construction according to updates from Disney Cruise Line and once it is done, it will be the cruise line’s second stop in The Bahamas, an addition to Castaway Cay located at Lighthouse Point in Southern Eleuthera.

It is slated to be ready for opening in June 2024 and will be 700-acres large, reports say.

Disney shared 3 photos online of the construction progress and in an aerial shot, the colorful Mabrika Cove Cabanas can be seen.

The photos also include shell-inspired architecture as roofs like structures over pavilions where tourists will be able to enjoy the free on-shore True-True Too BBQ dining. Also a tram stop is featured where local vendors will be based, offering various services for the visitors.

In continuation, according to details from Disney, there will be an adults only area called Serenity Bay with private cabanas, its very own beach and dining areas. And tourists will be greeted in the welcome area by what’s called a Goombay Cultural Center, linked to The Bahamas Junkanoo, alongside other exciting developments.

The site will see cruise ship visits between three and five times weekly all year round, according to earlier statements  from Disney. In fact, this summer, visits will, as stated in reports, come mostly from Port Everglades and will later be frequented by visits from Port-Canaveral ships by fall season.

Now, only 16 percent of the 700-acre site will be developed by Disney, which promised to give back at least 190 acres to the Bahamian Government, inclusive of the southernmost point of the land, which is set to be made into a national park.

Lookout Cay has been in construction since 2019, when it won approval from the government for the purchase of the land. However, progress was delayed due to an environmental assessment, but mainly because of the COVID-19 and hurricanes.
