HaitianRefugees#DominicanRepublic, March 20, 2024 – Desperate to escape the violent atmosphere in Haiti, Haitians are fleeing to the Dominican Republic. However, the Dominican Republic isn’t very keen on having Haitian refugees on its land and so is sending them back to the gang run republic. The refugees which include children, are being sent back in caged police vans, as seen in photos according to reports, and they are being transported daily from a detention center in San Cristobal.  Now, this act of sending back the Haitians has attracted attention from Human rights activists who, like the United Nations, are calling on the Dominican Republic’s government to postpone deportations as Haiti is severely unsafe. The United Nations has also called on other countries to so the same.
