Ministry of Health and Human Services WARNING on Sale or Purchase of Eye products from Equate, CVS and AACE Pharmaceutical Inc.

The Ministry of Health and Human Services (MoHHS) wishes to notify all local suppliers and the general public about the drug recall circulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This voluntary recall – led by Brassica Pharma Pvt. Ltd. – concerns Equate Lubricant Eye Ointment, Equate Stye Lubricant Eye Ointment, CVS Health Lubricant Eye Ointment, Lubricant PM Ointment and is initiated due to a lack of sterility assurance at the manufacturing facility

Of note, these products were distributed by companies such as Walmart, CVS and AACE Pharmaceutical inc.

 The MoHHS’ top priority is to ensure public health safety and so wishes to advise consumers to stop using the mentioned products if found on the market and contact their respective local suppliers.  The products are intended to be sterile and have the potential to cause eye infections when used. Local suppliers and consumers are advised to contact the Environmental Health Department at 338-2142 for more information on how best to dispose of these affected ophthalmic/eye products.

 In addition, consumers should contact their pharmacist, physician or other healthcare provider if they have any questions, concerns or have experienced any problems related to the use of these ophthalmic products. Consumers are also advised to report any side effects via the MoHHS’ Adverse Drug Reaction Form found at https://gov.tc/docs/ADR.pdf.
