Cuban Woman plead NOT GUILTY to Overstaying

#TurksandCaicosIslands, March 5, 2024They first appeared in the Magistrate’s court on Monday February 19th charged with possession of a forged passport each and remaining in the island beyond the permitted time (overstaying).

Mrs. Lara Maroof Misick appeared on their behalf and asked that the matter be adjourned until she’s received disclosure in the matter against the two Spanish-speaking women identified as YAIMA LOPEZ REYES, 29 and LINET OJEDA ESCANDELL 25.

The learned Chief Magistrate granted the accused women $5,000.00 bail with no objections from the ODPP, to return to court on February 26th.

 They both pleaded not guilty to the offences on 26th February, and the case moved to 14th March for another mention date.
