#TurksandCaicosIslands, February 14, 2024Salterra Resort and Spa is the newest luxury resort in South Caicos, its name and redesign pay homage to the salt salinas or ponds which were once a major economic driver for South Caicos; Salterra is poised now to contribute to the same.

With the website up and the official opening slated for this fall, the pristine beauty of South Caicos is at the heart of the marketing campaign created by the Salterra team. Pools and amenities fade into the background as iguanas, sharks, the shoreline of South Caicos and of course the Salt Flats take centre stage in a launch video that exposes the natural environment that guests will encounter.

“Welcome to the island of white gold. Wash ashore onto South Caicos and see where drops of saltwater transform into diamonds of salt. The mineral sustains, enhances, balances, and cleanses. And like the naturally occurring salt within this region, our escape balances the raw with the refined. We invite you to a place where memories crystallise,” says the website.

It’s a take that focuses not only on the luxury that is sure to be present at the hotel, which is the country’s first Marriott-branded property, but the natural environment of the Turks and Caicos which the government is keen to preserve.

“South Caicos is a destination with a soul all its own– Here, the noise of daily life is muted and distant,” promises the website. The wildlife and environment of the Turks and Caicos will play a significant part in the offerings on this resort, “As keepers of the island’s many mysteries, we urge you to find the marvels that are the spirit of South Caicos. As connoisseurs of luxury service, we’ll point you in the right direction,” says the Salterra team.

While bookings have yet to be opened Salterra will bring hundreds of guests to South Caicos courtesy of its 100 rooms all of which will have ocean-side views of South Caicos, 65 of those rooms will be suites according to the Salterra team listing on the ILTM Cannes Website. Also included are six dining venues, a lagoon-style pool, a kids’ splash area, a hot tub, a new kid’s club, and a fitness centre. The Spa boasts an adults-only pool, hammocks and Caribbean-themed treatment rooms.

Even without bookings open the Salterra Instagram Page has gathered a following of almost 200 people. The redesign of Salterra from East Bay Resort began in 2023 and when complete the hotel will be part of the Luxury Collection of Marriott Hotels.
