Jamaica Local Govt Elections held

#Jamaica#LocalGovElections, February 26th, 2024 – Jamaica’s long awaited local government elections were held today February 26th, after being postponed on several occasions since November of 2020. Reports indicate that just over two million Jamaicans are eligible to vote and that the electoral system was well prepared with a total of 6,726 polling stations in 2,148 locations across the island, open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Voters selected from 496 nominated candidates across the island. The date for results is yet to be announced
