#TurksAndCaicos, January 10, 2023 – A personal injury lawsuit is coming for the TCI government; a resident claiming they have been sickened by the recurring fires at the Providenciales Landfill is filing the claim. When we spoke to Wheeland MP Kyle Knowles, he said this:
“I am aware of the legal action taking place, but I can’t comment on it, as it is a matter being dealt with through the Ministry of Health and the Attorney General’s chambers.”
A letter dated January 2 on the letterhead of Stanbrook and Prudhoe was shared with our team on January 9 … it’s asking residents to share if they suffer any health problems due to the dump. Named in the lawsuit are the Minister of Health and the Director of Environmental Health. The resident is hoping for a settlement, but if necessary, legal action will be taken by the end of January.
