#TheBahamas, January 9, 2023 – Convicted American fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried will not face another trial, and that decision was met with some outrage. The founder of FTX, which was headquartered in The Bahamas, had been indicted on suspicion of making exorbitant donations to campaigns of various US politicians or conspiring to bribe foreign officials. Federal prosecutors dropped the charges, citing a lack of new evidence and a keen interest in having the case wrapped up quickly. Bankman-Fried is to be sentenced on March 28.
