#TurksandCaicos, January 19th, 2024 – In the face of increasing levels of gun crimes locally a group of residents headed by Dr. David Burrows has launched a new mentor training program to combat violence in young men locally. Dubbed the ‘Reaching the Streets Training’ the two phase process begins on January 21st with stakeholder engagement meetings in Providenciales and Grand Turk. The training seeks to equip both experts and everyday individuals with useful strategies to help disrupt gun violence and the 2nd phase, which includes the actual training, begins in February. The government made the announcement on Thursday
