#TurksandCaicos, January 19th, 2024 – The submission process for health certificates for migrants in the Turks and Caicos will change this year with the introduction of an online portal for the Migrant Health Evaluation Programme.

The online portal will go live this month (January 2024) and will allow physicians worldwide to upload their client’s medical assessment directly onto the portal. This will affect migrants applying for work permits etc in the country.

“The MHEP has made significant improvements over the past three years. Our system now offers more security and accountability,” was the assurance from the Primary Healthcare team as they made the announcement in a recent press release.

The country had pared down the last of health facilities they would accept health certificates from in 2022 folding widespread document fraud.

Described as ‘a significant achievement and milestone for the Ministry of Health and the Turks and Caicos Islands Government’; the portal was created with help from the Ministry of Finance.
