#TurksandCaicos, December 8, 2023 – Woodly ‘Smokie Barnes’ Victorian, the blind accused whose lack of legal aid came to light in early December, will have to wait another month on remand, as he is still without a legal aid attorney. In December, Mabel Agyemang, Chief Justice, had promised to investigate his issues by getting a court-appointed lawyer but the results of that investigation were not ready on January 5th, leaving Victorian behind bars for another month. He has been on remand for over 14 months now.
