#TurksandCaicos, January 19th, 2024 – Arlington Musgrove, Minister of Immigration and Border Services, has won an application for a judicial review into an August 2023 ruling of the Integrity Commission. The ruling had determined Musgrove had a conflict of interest by being the owner of a Providenciales property leased by the government for use as a migrant detention center and should be immediately moved to another ministry.
Musgrove proposed that he had done nothing wrong; having held the lease agreement long before his post as minister. Musgrove had also indicated he wanted the property vacated but could only reasonably do so once other accommodations were secured for the center.
The judge sided with Musgrove in a November 14 ruling shared with MM and the Integrity Commission order has been halted pending a review into their decision.
