Honduras Gender Based Violence increases, more people in need of humanitarian aid.

#Honduras#GBV, January 29th, 2024 – Honduras is currently seeing an increase in gender based violence according to a January 26th report from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Human Affairs (OCHA). It says, femicides, the killing of women and girls, increased by 48 percent between January and June 2023. Also, Honduras’ Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP), the report informs, revealed that 1 in 4 Hondurans are in need of humanitarian assistance. It says the HNRP needs US$203 million to help 1.3 million of the most vulnerable among the 2.8 million people in need.
