#Bahamas#Courts, January 29th, 2024 – The Bahamas is improving its judicial system for more effective crime fighting says Attorney General Ryan Pinder. Speaking at the Office of the Prime Minister’s Weekly Press Briefing on January 25th, 2024, Pinder informs of advancements within the Supreme Court as well as the expansion of the court system.
“We have committed to improving the judicial infrastructure with a new Supreme Court complex. We have committed to putting in place specialty courts such as juvenile courts, family courts, sexual offense courts, to provide more focused and expedited dispute resolution and administration of justice. And we have already passed amendments to increase the number of Supreme Court Justices,” Pinder states.
He says this comes with the continued collaboration of the Government and the Office of the Attorney General, working towards more timely and effective prosecutions.
