#Grenada, December 11, 2023 – A freak accident in Grenada left an InterCaribbean Airways aircraft damaged on Sunday, Magnetic Media can confirm. The craft was reportedly hit by a vehicle at Maurice Bishop International Airport and remains out of service.

When we spoke to the InterCaribbean team on Sunday night, they swiftly confirmed the incident and shared a statement by  Lynisa Gardiner, Director of Customer Experience at InterCaribbean Airways.

“Safety and reliability are our top priorities at InterCaribbean Airways. We are working closely with the authorities and the ground handling agency at Maurice Bishop International Airport to investigate this incident. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to our passengers and thank them for their continued trust in our services.,” she said.

The accident will result in delays for seven flights across Barbados, Antigua, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, and St. Kitts.  The team apologized for the delays, stressing that they knew it was frustrating, especially during the holiday season. A replacement aircraft has since been deployed from Providenciales.
