#TurksandCaicosIslands, October 10, 2023 – Grand Turk, Providenciales, and North Caicos are slated for new development following a suite of conditional approvals for housing and commercial projects.

Over 100 units have been given the nod.

The information was shared by the Physical Planning Board which handles applications for construction across the country.

Most of the new construction approved in this batch was slated for Providenciales with both luxury appointments, open lots, and regular residences receiving approval.

At least 92 units are to be built in about 8 developments ranging from apartment buildings to villas outfitted with perks like swim-up bars and restaurants.

Additionally, 19 open lots were conditionally approved for four different developers. A proposed children’s park was also approved.

Applications for over 77 open lots were deferred, as were several villas, a casino, and four 12-story blocks for a major hotel brand.

In Grand Turk, at least seven apartment units in two developments were approved by the board. Approved too was a commercial building with three retail units.

A proposal to create 18 open lots was refused.

Ten open lots were approved for North Caicos and seven luxury studio units for Ambergris Cay.
