October 10, 2023 – The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) spoke out and expressed strong condemnation towards the ongoing violence between Israel and Gaza.

Referring to the hostilities of both nations, the attacks and counterattacks, CARICOM described them as the antithesis of civilized life and living, pointing out that their behaviours will continue to impact, severely, innocent people.

Videos on social media act as windows into the true nature of what is going on between both countries, which appear to be, as expressed by CARICOM, the residual effect of ancient quarrels, reflecting the pain and suffering.

In the videos, bombed buildings and missiles shooting across the sky. People are being threatened and kidnapped; far too many are painfully being separated from loved ones.

A barrage of gunfire echoed from the earliest days of the conflict, which is entering a third week.

In efforts to quell the unrest between the nations CARICOM, as it spoke out against the behaviours in an October 9th statement, said the Caribbean Community joins international nations in the call for the immediate ceasefire and end of hostilities by all parties.

But the war is only escalating. Threats and attacks are now happening outside of the middle east and Americans are now warned by their government to be careful as potential danger against them looms large anywhere they are traveling in the world.

CARICOM continues to support the United Nations Security Council Resolution 242 and the ongoing efforts of the United Nations towards a two-state solution as the best way to achieve comprehensive peace, security and tranquility between Israel and Palestine.
