PROVIDENCIALES, Turks & Caicos Islands:  One of the core values of Sandals Resorts International and Beaches Turks and Caicos (BTC) is loving families.

In keeping with this, BTC was able to create opportunities of fun, love and warmth for its team members and their families atsummer camp 2023. The planners and conceptualizers of the event, the Beaches Turks and Caicos Sports, Social and Cultural Club Summer Camp 2023 was designed to creatively engage children of team members who were on summer break.

Under the leadership of sports club executives the human resources department and the Kids Camp they were able to provide for more than 400 children over a one month period.

“We believe in not just providing guests with memories that will last a lifetime but also our team members and their families who are our family. The joy that we saw on the children’s faces each day was satisfying,” shared Romaine Adams, vice president of the sports club.

Sports club President Anesha Beckford, in celebrating the success of the event highlighted the value of partnership in providing a wholesome environment for the campers. Said Beckford,We must commend the leadership of the resort and the different departments that allowed this to materialize. Our general manager, the human resources team along with the kids camp leaders made this camp the most memorable for all the years that we have hosted these young people.”

The children were able to participate in swimming and water sports activities, art and craft, board games and outdoor activities that allowed them to experience the resort and the amenities available.

One camper, Isabella McKnight, shared, “I met many new friends at the summer camp and we had the chance to learn so many new activities. The playmakers from the entertainment department were very friendly and helped us to work as a team and to use whatever new activities they taught us as motivation to be comfortable with our abilities. I got the chance to snorkel as well as designed my own shirt in the tie and dye session. The camp was fun. My brother and I are so looking forward to next summer.”

Another camper, Adine Chattell, was glowing while he spoke of his experience at the camp. “We had so much fun exploring the water park and the slides, face painting, the boat rides, and the many board games which created friendly rivalry. I was most impressed by the creative designs that we made during tie and dye activities. I’m already looking forward to coming back here next summer. Thank you to Beaches Turks and Caicos. I amhappy that my mother is a team member here.”

The campaign ran for four weeks from July 31st – August 25th. Each week a new cohort of children ranging from ages six years to 14 years were enrolled and had the pleasure of playing and learning on the grounds of BTC. Their lunches and refreshments were also catered by the resort.
