Swimming Mishap In Grand Turk
#TurksandCaicos, January 15, 2023 – On Thursday 12th January 2023 around 1:04 p.m officers attached to the Grand Turk Police Station received a distress call requesting assistance, following a boating incident.
Responding officers visited the scene, and later the Cockburn Town Medical Centre.
Upon arrival at the institution, officers noticed a male, who identified himself as a 63- year old United States citizen, being wheeled into the Emergency Room.
Initial investigations revealed that the victim was out of the swimming zone when the accident occurred. He remains at the Cockburn Town Medical Centre, warded in stable condition .
Acting Assistant Superintendent of Police Michael Francois has issued an appeal for visitors, to adhere to the signages and water markings .
“These have been erected for your safety. The signs are clearly marked and indicate the Do’s and Don’ts of ocean safety. It is for your protection as well as, your enjoyment on our beautiful by nature TCI.”
Investigations are continuing.
