TCI records SEVENTH COVID-19 related death

#Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – January 16th, 2021: InterHealth Canada – Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital is saddened to announce the country’s seventh COVID-19 related death.  

The middle-aged male was a known confirmed COVID-19 case. The patient was transported to the Emergency Department at Cheshire Hall Medical Centre by ambulance in critical condition on the afternoon of Saturday, January 16th, 2021.

The hospital’s COVID-19 emergency response was activated ahead of the patient’s arrival, and the team commenced immediate resuscitation. The patient’s condition rapidly deteriorated despite our medical interventions and sadly, he passed away. The death is officially classified as COVID-19 related.

The Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital and the Ministry of Health wish to extend our deepest condolences to the grieving family and friends on the unfortunate loss of their loved one.
