#TurksandCaicos – December 10, 2020 – Seven new cases of Covid-19 were found in a batch of 102 tests performed by the National Public Health Laboratory and it signals the sneaky presence of the coronavirus on the country’s most populated island.
Up to Wedenesday, there were 21 active cases and Turks and Caicos continues to have no one hospitalised as a result of contracting Covid-19.
The Ministry of Health’s December 9 update informs that
there has naturally also been an increase in how many people are in isolation
or under observation; that figure stands at 106; an additional ten people since
the day before. There is no one being
held in government quarantine at this time.
The country continues its community testing plan with free
testing in Grand Turk from 2 to 4pm and South Caicos from 9am to 12pm on
Wednesdays. In Grand Turk, the testing is set up at the Gazebo on Pond Street
and in South Caicos, residents can test at the Primary Healthcare Clinic.
North and Middle Caicos also have weekly testing on
Wednesdays from 9am to noon at the clinics in Kew, Bottle Creek and in the
clinic in Middle.
For Providenciales, the mobile clinic of the Ministry of
Health will be parked at the Down Town Ball park for testing this Friday,
December 11 and again next week on December 18.
The hours for the free, drive-thru testing are 10am to 1pm.
So far, Turks and Caicos has carried
out 10,171 tests.
