New Executive Director named at TCI Governor’s Office

Lavern Skippings-Reynolds - New Executive Director, Governor's Office,

#GrandTurk – November 11, 2020 – The Turks and Caicos Islands Civil Service is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Lavern Skippings-Reynolds to the post of Executive Director of the Governor’s Office. 

Mrs. Skippings-Reynolds holds an Associates’ and Bachelors’ Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Barbados Community College and Johnson & Wales University (North Miami, Florida), respectively; an MBA from Nova Southeastern University; as well as a Certificate in Real Estate from Florida Gold Coast Schools.

Mrs. Skippings-Reynolds has held a number of roles, most recently serving in the capacity of Executive Terminal and Marketing Manager with the Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority, managing key functions of the Providenciales International Airport; also working as the Chairman of the Airline Slot Management Committee and an active member to the Air Operators Committee (AOC); also attaining her Chartered Manager’s status from the United Kingdom(UK) which is one of the highest achievements that a management professional could achieve.

Mrs. Skippings-Reynolds commenting on her appointment said:  “I gratefully and humbly accept the appointment of Executive Director to the Governor’s Office. This post is a great responsibility, but this is a great opportunity to demonstrate all that I have learned and how capable I am. I can assure all that I will work tirelessly, day by day to meet the goals placed before me in this dynamic environment. 

I would like to thank the Governor, who did not hesitate to appoint me to manage and cultivate the operations of his office.  I strongly believe that working in this capacity will strengthen my innovative capacity and demand that I unlock my full potential to serve my post better.”

Governor, His Excellency Nigel Dakin commented; “I am pleased to welcome Lavern to my team in the Governors’ Office and to congratulate her on her appointment.

She performed well during a robust interview process which yielded top quality local candidates.  She has proven her ability to work in dynamic environments to tirelessly achieve the goals set before her and I am sure, will be a valued asset to my office.

I also take the opportunity to thank her predecessor James Astwood for his exceptional service to the Governor’s Office and to wish him well on his new appointment as Deputy Secretary within the Ministry of Immigration, Citizenship, Labour and Employment Services.”
