Almost all Bahamas Cabinet in Quarantine

#Nassau, The Bahamas – October 7, 2020 — All but three Cabinet Ministers in quarantine because of “potential exposure” to coronavirus said PM Dr. Hubert Minnis today in House of Assembly.

Tourism and Social Services Ministers, Hon Dionisio D’Aguliar and Hon Frankie Campbell were not present at a meeting where there was possible exposure; the two with Hon Dr Minnis were in Parliament today.

On Monday The Bahamas Cabinet Office announced, “…the Churchill Building in Rawson Square will be closed for cleaning and sanitation on Monday 5 October 2020.  It will reopen for business on Tuesday 6 October 2020 at the normal time. The Cabinet Office apologizes to the public for any inconvenience caused by its closure.”

Hon Peter Turnquest, the Deputy Prime Minister and Hon Renward Well, the Minister of Health are among those “completing quarantine”.

It is at least the third time Deputy Prime Minister Turnquest, also the country’s Minister of Finance, has been quarantined during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Bahamas Cabinet is comprised of 18 ministers, including the Prime Minister.
