JetBlue and other airlines had substantially reduced September flights to the Turks and Caicos amidst the coronavirus pandemic; September is also the tradition slow season.

Several major resorts, including family all-inclusive Beaches Resort Turks and Caicos and all-inclusive Turks and Caicos Collection are closed in response to the significant hit and unprecedented uncertainties in the travel and tourism industry.

October is expected to experience an increase in air arrivals for the Turks and Caicos.  JetBlue will resume its Ft Lauderdale and Boston flights.  Currently, the low cost carrier is running a once weekly flight between New York’s JFK and PLS.

Newark International Airport, (EWR) is a major airport for the Tri-State region, which includes New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.  In 2019, the airport (EWR) had a record setting year serving over 46 million passengers.
