#Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, August 26, 2020 – This year for the first time in history back to school photos and experiences will look a lot different than we’ve become accustomed to. Nonetheless, it is our hope that students across the Turks and Caicos are enthusiastic about the Fall 2020 semester beginning Monday, August 31st as per the latest announcement of the Ministry of Education.
As a mother of a beautiful teenager, a
grandmother of the most amazing grandkids, and the leading female in a robust
and ever changing industry, I have struggled to find a balance between family
life and work life, and I empathise with the many parents who face uncertainty
as they prepare their children to return to school as we all learn to live with
this new normal.
I want to
share three tips that have been helpful for me as I prepare my daughter and
grandchildren for the new semester:
Motivate yourself: These are indeed challenging times and we are
faced with information and misinformation overload that can affect our
wellbeing. Use this time as an opportunity to reinvent yourself. Set up a daily practice to express and
experience positive moments; learn something new; and, encourage your family,
friends and community to support each other.
Embrace change: There is no doubt that we
have all experienced a lot of change in the recent months. Embrace the disruption and acknowledge the
creative potential of this moment and be willing to do things differently.
Parents and teachers now have to seek out new and creative ideas and methods to
inspire learning to keep students engaged.
Be willing to be flexible and adjust where necessary to find win, win
situations for everyone.
Be ready: Preparation is the key to
success. Lean into this moment with everything you have. Some days may be
difficult, but I guarantee it will be worth if you are prepared. Create a
checklist, create a plan, and create time and space to ready yourself for a new
kind of adventure. Think outside the box,
go beyond the boundaries and be open to what you can achieve.
At Flow TCI, we are committed to keeping you
connected and ensuring that you have the tools and technology to optimize the
learning experience this semester.
For the schools that will resume face to face
learning, Flow has been providing FREE high speed broadband services to all
public schools in the Turks and Caicos for over a decade.
Furthermore, since September 2019 we upgraded
the speeds at all public schools to facilitate a quality learning experience.
The Flow family wishes you all the best this
semester; and remember, we are #InThisTogether.
