#Coral Harbour Base, 19 APR. ‘20: (RBDF): – The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) was pleased to contribute to community relief initiatives through the provision of security assistance with delivering much needed food supplies directly to the doors of some 150 of the most vulnerable citizens within New Providence based communities on Saturday Past.
The RBDF partnered with the ‘Wildflowers’ Team and Sally Van Tooren of
the Family Help and Support Foundation who worked tirelessly in the background.
The NGO and their network of benefactors contributed the food supplies,
and Wildflowers executed logistical and in kind support. Defence Force
personnel involved in the initiative provided not only security assistance, but
ensured that the laws and rules of emergency protocols were being carried out.
Spearheaded by Mr. Kasimu Ellis, a former Defence Force Marine and a
Wildflower Lead Designer, the corporate group distributed the items to various
families in the East Street and Kemp Road areas. He was pleased by the
willingness of the Acting Commander Defence Force, Captain Raymond King and the
Officers and Marines to assist.
“I am proud and privileged to
have been aligned with this great organization that has grown into what it is
today”, said Ellis. “I wear it as a badge of honour,” he said, thanking
the servicemen and women.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force encourages all persons who are able to,
