On
Friday, 10th January 2020, we were informed that Mr. Dean had been
formally charged with offences relating to the Claims and Objections process
for the upcoming general election. Due to the seriousness of the matter, Mr.
Dean, who maintains his innocence, has decided that it would be best for him,
his family, and for the people of Wheeland, to step away from frontline
politics at this time in order to focus on addressing the charges and clearing
his name.

While
it is unfortunate, we recognize that Mr. Dean must do what is best for him and
his family at this time. We would like to thank Mr. Dean for all his hard work
and dedication to the people of Wheeland, the Turks & Caicos in general,
and to the PNP; and we will be keeping him in our prayers.
As
this matter is very serious and sensitive, the party will not be making any
further public statements on it at this
time.
Mr. Ariza has stepped down due to personal reasons. In keeping with the party’s constitution, we will be filling the two vacancies through a selection and nomination process soon.
