#Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – February 6, 2019 – Caicos Express Airways, based in the Turks and Caicos Islands has announced that on March 15, 2019 the airline company will begin flights into Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

The addition of #PuertoPlata marks the third destination for Caicos Express Airways within the Dominican Republic. The airline currently boasts direct commutes from Providenciales, (PLS) to Santiago (STI) four days a week and Santo Domingo (SDQ), once per week, linking the hottest destinations in the #Caribbean.

Puerto Plata is known as the birthplace of tourism for the Dominican Republic, with world famous beaches, national parks, protected areas, wildlife spotting, plantation trails, rivers, lakes, islands, cayes and waterfalls offering guests an overabundance of things to do while on vacation.

A mere 45-minutes away from Providenciales by air, Puerto Plata is more than a visitor destination of distinction, it is home to many Dominicans who make up the cosmopolitan workforce of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The decision for the airline to add the third major #DomRep city was both to broaden tourists’ Caribbean experiences and to serve a demand from the Puerto Plata natives residing in the TCI.

The Puerta Plata international airport (Gregorio Luperón International Airport – POP) is on the coast with amazing all-inclusive resorts.  So, this decision was easy and it was made to attract tourists to and from Turks and Caicos and to serve the DR people living here who are asking every day for Caicos Express to serve the route.”

Caicos Express Airways will service the route with its Beech 1900, 19-seater aircraft into Puerto Plata’s international airport (POP) once weekly.

Visitors from the Dominican Republic will also get a world class treat when visiting the Turks and Caicos Islands.  In under an hour, the powdery soft sand and pristine waters, which is the 12-mile long, World’s No. 1 Beach, #GraceBayBeach and its luxury amenities will be a worthy welcome mat.

The Turks and Caicos Islands was in January named the Caribbean’s Most Romantic Destination 2019 at the World Travel Awards; and the archipelago is a leading cruise port and internationally acclaimed dive destination thanks to Grand Turk.

The high caliber service of Caicos Express Airways will be available to Puerto Plata travelers on Fridays at the same rate as its Santiago route, and the tickets will be interchangeable.

“This gives travelers ‘two great cities, at one fabulous price.”

#CaicosExpressAirways, (CXE) a Turks and Caicos based airline company began chartered flight operations in 2007.  In 2011, the airline expanded its services with regular flights within its hub market in the Turks and Caicos Islands.  Providenciales, Grand Turk, South Caicos and Salt Cay have all enjoyed the CXE standard of excellence.  By 2014, Caicos Express broadened its reach to Port Au Prince and Cap Hatien, in Haiti and in 2017, flights to Santiago and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic were introduced.

Once again, the market is demanding more from its ‘favorite airline’ and the response is the new route to Puerto Plata.
