Trial of the ‘bitten off finger’ continues, plus more from Turks and Caicos courts

#Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – Friday October 5, 2018 – Updates from the court and crime beat:  Dominic Swann was sentenced to seven years in Her Majesty’s Prison after he was convicted last month in the Provo Supreme Court on arms related offenses.  Swann is expected to appeal the conviction.  

This Friday a number of high profile and heinous crimes cases will make appearance at court including one featuring Kendall ‘Mad Max’ Dean, who is charged with the murder of Judah Gail.  Dean’s sufficiency hearing begins on Friday before the Chief Justice.

Shavez Musgrove and Andrew Parker are with over a dozen charges against them, each, related to armed invasions, sexual assaults and kidnappings – they go to court on Friday for ‘mention’.    Parker is the young man who returned to Turks and Caicos on a Haitian sloop which illegally entered the country in April this year.  Parker had been on the run since Summer 2017 after he escaped Police custody.  

Also in court on Friday, Huntley Forbes Jr, who is a police officer and youth pastor in Grand Turk.  Forbes Jr is charged with sexual assault of a woman.  While he was suspended from active police duty, he remains a youth pastor.

Into its second week is the trial of Rashad Stubbs who allegedly bit off the finger of a visitor to the Turks and Caicos after a brawl broke out in the gaming parlour when customers tried to stop his alleged armed robbery attempt.

A verdict in this case is expected by next week Friday; the incident happened at Bro Will’s complex in The Bight
