Education Minister says Civics coming to Turks and Caicos public school curriculum
#Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – October 1, 2018 – Public school curriculum development will result in more conscientious citizens says the Minister of Education, Karen Malcolm who was speaking to Magnetic Media at the Provo Youth Day parade.
“…want to make sure that our students are empowered and I would also like to add that even in the academics we are reviewing our curriculum to include our history, our civics and various programs so that our children will be empowered and be able to help each other and be able to know more about our country.” 
This is a solid move and according to Civics Academy, “Civic education empowers us to be well-informed, active citizens and gives us the opportunity to change the world around us. It is a vital part of any democracy, and equips ordinary people with knowledge about our democracy and our Constitution. … We come to understand our role and responsibility as active citizens.”
