#Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – August 4, 2018 – Police do not detail the rampant reports of all out anarchy overnight in Providencieales, following the cold-blooded killing of Judah Gail in the wee hours of Friday, but they do confirm the wild shootings which erupted and report that a man is dead, while two others are hospitalized.

The Police Commissioner, in a media statement, spoke about the plan to quell the radical criminal activity.

“Members of the public can expect to see increased patrols, including armed officers and K9 patrols tonight and in the coming days to prevent or react to further incidents. I seek the active cooperation of the public in bringing offenders to justice and recover the firearms used in these and other crimes,” said Commissioner James Smith.

The TCI Police Force explained that: “According to reports, at 9:30 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2018, gunshots were heard in Five Cays. A 35-year -old man was taken to Hospital via ambulance and pronounced dead at 10:00 p.m.  Police reports also indicated that two other males were taken to Hospital via private vehicle following that shooting. Both men received gun-shot wounds.”

A mere nine hours after the country recorded its third homicide; another man was killed and is the fourth death for 2018 by violence.

The Police Commissioner said today that his investigators have two suspects in custody for the first murder, and he beckoned to the public for help.

“The suspects are hiding among us, people know who they are, and it is their public duty to come forward, in confidence, to any police officer or by calling Chalk Sound Police station on 338-5901 or 941-8082 or by calling Crime Stoppers on 1-800-8477.”
