ScotiaBank TCI to become one location, Grace Bay to close July, Grand Turk to close September

#Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – Thursday June 7, 2018 – ScotiaBank TCI today announced that it is closing its Grace Bay and Grand Turk branches and will consolidate into one location, the Leeward Highway branch in Providenciales.

In a media statement late today ScotiaBank expressed the reason for the closure is manifold, but cited the impact of the recent hurricanes as cementing the decision to streamline its services countrywide.

“The current Head Office at ScotiaCentre, 88 Cherokee Rd Providenciales, which currently houses the Retail Branch, Corporate & Commercial Banking and the Managing Director’s Offices, will become the new home for the full suite of services.

As the bank undergoes these changes to align with the regional format, the Grace Bay and Grand Turk operations will ultimately consolidate into the ScotiaCentre facility.

The consolidation of the Grace Bay Branch will take effect on July 20, 2018 with Grand Turk Branch following on September 28, 2018. All banking operations will remain business as usual until this time.

Scotiabank officials have engaged Leaders of Government and Opposition to apprise them of the Banks’ plans.”

Magnetic Media reached out to ScotiaBank today after being told of a WhatsApp message informing Grand Turk residents that the branch in the Capital island would be closed.  Minutes later, the media release came confirming the message as bearing truth.

The statement  from ScotiaBank further explained that customers will be more formally informed of the imminent changes.
