Brazilian woman dies on holiday in Provo, traffic accident being investigated

#Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – Monday June 11, 2018 – A Brazilian woman has died while on holiday in Providenciales in a Sunday traffic accident and TCI Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly collision.

A statement from Police this morning explained, “The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Traffic Division is investigating a car crash that left one person dead.

At 9:49 p.m. Sunday, June 10th, 2018, Police and EMT’s responded to a two-car vehicular accident at the Venetian Road Roundabout on the Leeward Highway.

A female was taken from the scene by ambulance and later succumbed to injuries at Hospital.

The exact cause of the crash involving a Yellow Suzuki Alto and a Black Chevy Tahoe is still under investigation.”

An image of the vehicle is gut wrenching.  One side of the car is mashed in with the front tire barely clinging to the wreckage; the car itself is pushed into a leaning utility pole where there is severe front end damage of the compact vehicle.

It was said the tourists were heading west on the roundabout when the accident happened.
