Sex offender inmate busted, pleads guilty to trying to smuggle marijuana into HMP in Grand Turk
#GrandTurk, Turks and Caicos – April 26, 2018 – A prison inmate abused his freedom as he participated in the farm program and was on Friday April 13, 2018 found to be in possession of marijuana upon returning to Her Majesty’s Prison in the Capital, Grand Turk.
Jarry Welch, 25-years old and serving an eight year sentence for buggery and indecent assault on two young girls had the cannabis shoved into his pants near his genitals. It was found by prison guards.
Welch of Providenciales has pled guilty to the charge of unlawful possession of a controlled drug, but will have to wait until next month to hear how much the foiled drug smuggling attempt will add to his time.
Now authorities have to determine who and how he came to be in possession of the ‘weed.’
