Providenciales, Turkls and Caicos Islands, March 7, 2018 –  The Family of slain businessman, Robert ‘Robbie’ Been Sr, on Sunday announced, that it will now double the reward money in his unsolved murder case, offering $100,000 for information to catch the killer.

It was a cold-hearted crime which still has Police stumped and loved ones in mourning and hoping for closure.

In a solemn service held at the Turquoise Point Plaza, where Been was shot multiple times by an unknown assailant, memories were shared of the father, brother, uncle and friend.

It was on a Tuesday night on March 4, 2014 that Been, while entering his vehicle in the rear parking lot of the plaza, where he also resided, was shot.  The murderer managed to escape the scene in a white van, which was later recovered by police and found to have been stolen from the airport and owned by Grace Bay Car Rental.

Robbie Been, while being transported to the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre, by his eldest son died.  The case elicited headlines of shock, outrage and confusion as TCI Police have been unable to get any information from the public and no suspects have ever been arrested in the matter.

Immediately the reward money climbed to $50,000; today the reward being offered stands at $100,000 as the family continues to seek and hope for answers.

On this fourth commemoration of his death, candles were also lit in memory of Robbie Been.  The vigil is held every year on the anniversary of Been’s murder at Turquoise Point Plaza in Grace Bay.
