Migrants charged with harbouring, migrant woman found and hospitalised and 22 year-old arrested for drugs in TCI Police report

Crime Update, Royal Turks and Caicos Police – March 20, 2018

 Arrests and Charges 

 On Saturday, March 17th, 2018, a 32-year-old man was charged with the offence of Harboring Illegal aliens.  The man is currently released on USD$20,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Providenciales Magistrate Court on Tuesday, March 27th, 2018. 

 On Saturday two men were arrested on suspicion of assisting of illegal aliens, following reports of a suspiciously parked vehicle in the Little Bluff, North West Point area.  Both men are still in Police custody. 

 On Friday, March 16th, 2018, a man was formally charged with two counts of rape, one count of buggery and for remaining in the Turks and Caicos Islands beyond the permitted time, in connection to a report made on March 9th, 2018. 

 Police on Providenciales also charged a 22-year-old man for the offence of Possession of Control Drugs.  The man was given bail on March 18th, 2018, in the sum of USD$3500.00 and is set to appear at the Magistrate Court on March 26th, 2018.

 A 28-year-old man was also charged with Possession of Control Drugs on March 18th, 2018 and given bail in the amount of USD$3500 to appear at the Magistrate Court on March 26th, 2018.

  Illegal Entry

 Police and Immigration Officials are investigating the recent sightings of illegals in the Blue Hills area, following a report to the 911 Centre on March 16th, 2018.  According to reports, these persons were seen trying to get transportation. A total of seven persons were detained by the Immigration Officers and taken at the Detention Centre for processing.

 Investigations are ongoing into a report of an illegal female found lying near the main roadway in Blue Hills. The woman was taken to the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre for treatment via Emergency Medical Personnel. According to Police Reports, the woman said she came on an illegal sloop five days prior and was hiding in nearby bushes.  

 Police and Immigration Officials were in the area of Five Cays on March 19th, 2018, following reports of the landing an illegal sloop around 4:00 a.m. Two men were apprehended and taken to the Detention Centre for processing. A blue and red boat about 30 feet in length, was later discovered in the vicinity of the Five Cays Fishing Plant.

  Burglary 

Grand Turk Police are investigating a Burglary that took place at a place of Business on the Ridge.  The complainant reported to police that upon arriving on Saturday, March 17th, 2018, he discovered his business burgled. Missing were ten buckets of Elastomeric silicone, valued USD$150.00 each.
