Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – March 6, 2017 – Police have arrested a 39-year old woman and charged her with suspicion of theft.  The woman, who allegedly committed the crime at Graceway IGA supermarket works in the wholesale unit of the supermarket and was reportedly taken off the job and eventually charged in connection to a missing $3,000.

The Five Cays woman was granted bail in the amount of $3,500 after being arrested on Monday.

This is another ‘bust’ by the Financial Crimes Unit of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police which in July 2017 arrested two people for a similar offense; both were women.

A 22 and 25 year old were arrested when the General Manager filed a report in late March 2017.

“The complainant, who is the general manager of a Supermarket on Providenciales reported that the two who were cashiers of the store made fraudulent refunds and stole cash from the register.”

Bail in those cases were set at $12,500 and $3,000 bail respectively.
