#Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, March 23, 2018 –  Police are investigating the discovery of a decomposed male after the body was found washed ashore about three miles from the Amanyara Resort in northwest Providenciales.

Magnetic Media confirmed that a body did wash up and the official report from Police this afternoon explains, “Providenciales Police are investigating after a body was found on a beach in the North West Point area.  The body of a male was seen by Helicopter patrols Thursday, March 22nd, 2018 and reported to the 911 Centre at 6:20 p.m.  Police and Medical personnel arrived on the scene and determined the man was dead. The identity and cause of death are unknown at this time.”

In the span of seven days, as many as five illegal sloops managed to reach Turks and Caicos according to an official update last week Friday.  It was unknown how many migrants left Haiti on board the vessels and since the landings went undetected, it is even less clear who may have made it safely to shore.

Police reported on Tuesday that a woman was hospitalized after being found laying on the side of the road.  The Haitian woman explained that she had arrived to the Turks and Caicos on one of the illegal sloops and was living in bushes for at least five days.

Up to Tuesday 13 new arrests of illegal migrants were recorded.  However, there have been more illegal Haitians taken into custody.  Operation Guardian, with the help of UK chopper, entered the area of shanty homes adjacent to Graceway IGA Supermarket on Thursday and took in what appeared to be six people, including two women.
