Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands – March 8, 2018 – The Turks and Caicos social media circuit had been buzzing about an alleged bribery conspiracy designed to help an accused man escape jail time for reportedly shooting at another man in 2017 in Grand Turk.

The rumors, though sensational, appear to now be confirmed as today Turks and Caicos Police announced via press release, the arrest of a young man who has a ‘raunchy’ social media reputation of his own.

Police said: “On Wednesday March 7th, at 10:00 a.m., Grand Turk Police arrested and charged a 30-year-old male for the offence of Violent Language, attempted Bribery, and for the offence of Perverting the Course of Justice in relation to a report made on Monday, February 5th, 2018. The man is currently on bail in the sum of USD$3000.”

In a sordid twist, it was explained that the 30 year old man arrested on Wednesday was allegedly asked by his cousin – who is facing a gun trial – to allegedly bribe a witness in that cousin’s trial.

Dominic Swann is facing a firearms charge and on Monday he was re-arrested after the Chief Justice, Margaret Ramsey-Hale refused further bail because Swann violated bail conditions. Dominic Swann was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.

It is reported that due to trouble with his attorney at the time, Swann had to get fresh counsel and his new lawyer is Noel Skippings.

It was said to Magnetic Media that the woman, who was allegedly supposed to give ‘hush’ money for a witness not to turn up at the trial, reported the matter to Police.

A social media pundit was calling on the public to watch how the case would play out due to the powerful government and civic connections of the men accused.
