Providenciales, Turks and Caicos – February 11, 2018 – A Turks and Caicos family is earnestly praying for the person who struck and killed a 73-year-old man in Five Cays on Friday to come forward and confess to what happened.

Magnetic Media spoke to Kendra Parker, the niece of John Hilgrove Parker, the man killed in that hit and run on Friday night and she explained that the family is distraught and desperately hoping for the person responsible  to come out of the shadows.

“We just want whoever it is that did this to come forward, to say what happened and to help to bring some closure for the family.”

Police report that the incident happened around 11pm on Friday and was reported to 911 when Mr. Parker’s body was found unresponsive on the main Five Cays roadway.

An investigation is launched now into the tragedy.  Police are asking for help in this investigation.

Ms. Parker explained that her uncle was not only found ‘unresponsive’ but stripped of his wallet which held his identification and salary.  John Parker was a carpenter and mason, and was crossing the street to go home when he was hit by the unknown driver.

“It was someone at the Cheshire Hall Medical Center that recognized my uncle and called the family.  He had nothing on him and for a while, no one knew who he was.”

Parker says this was no way for her uncle to be treated, “his wallet, his house keys, his cell phone, his ids were all taken.”

John Parker is from Provo, but spent many years in North Caicos.  Mr. Parker had recently moved from Kew Town to Five Cays.
