Grand Turk, #TurksandCaicosIslands – February 27, 2018 – ‘Intervention’ is how some would describe a most unusual field trip for nearly two dozen boys of Clement Howell High School.

The young men, on Friday, visited Her Majesty’s Prison in Grand Turk where they were supposed to be ‘scared silly’ by images of other males locked away.  However, one opinion to Magnetic Media was that the teenage boys appeared unmoved by the bold initiative, designed to save them from crime and jail.

The move comes as a part of a string of initiatives aimed at re-directing young men of the school who have been involved in violent fights, reportedly in an ongoing turf war.  The instances have been so dramatic that the #RoyalTurksandCaicosPolice have been called to the school and in at least one incident, students were injured and taken to hospital.

It is hoped, that the boys’ reactions were mere bravado, and the visit to the prison in Grand Turk actually did work to scare the youngsters straight.
