Andros, Bahamas – January 17, 2018 – Several people from Lowe Sound Andros, Bahamas are among those confirmed dead in a plane crash which left North Andros, bound for Nassau; everyone on board is said to have perished.

One unconfirmed account of events said the plane “just fell off the radar shortly after taking off and a search was launched”.

Magnetic Media is getting conflicting numbers of how many were on board the small plane; but it seems at least six individuals were on the ill-fated flight, including a reported two children.

The social media buzz and horror of the tragedy is high; some naming who was on board the aircraft including a Lowe Sound businessman and photographs of the pilot and other passengers are being circulated.  Voice notes are also being shared on WhatsApp.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force is not yet reporting on the matter; we have reached out to ACP Clayton Fernander for information.  The ACP has responded and will get us information soon.

This incident is at least the third report of flight troubles since a bout of bad weather systems hit The Bahamas.

One incident was a crash landing in Governor’s Harbour, Eleuthera on January 9th, 2018 where some passengers were injured; the other, on January 12th, 2018 was a crash off Great Harbour Cay in the Berry Islands where the pilot and passengers were rescued, alive in swampy waters.

The plane today was said to have been found just off the island of Andros; it is unclear if the inclement weather negatively affected the flight.
