TCI: Murder accused will stand trial for John Eddie murder

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos – Murder accused, 29 year old Lewis Iton will stand trial for the killing of John Eddie Penn on September 12, just days after the passage of Hurricane Irma.

Police reported that there was an altercation and Penn, 44 years old died allegedly at the hands of Iton who was arrested that night and charged soon after.

From the Police Report:  “Around 7pm, Police responded to the parking lot area of Club Pillows The Bight, where information was received that the 44 year old male got into a physical altercation with another male, he became unresponsive and was taken to the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre. While at the Hospital he was pronounced dead.”

Lewis Iton appeared at the Supreme Court in Providenciales last week, where it was determined following a sufficiency hearing that he will stand trial and has to return to court in January 2018.
