Nassau, Bahamas – November 29, 2017 – It was a heart breaking scene in the court room yesterday when a 21 year old man was charged with the murder of his father; he and his mother held each other as they cried in the courtroom, his mother so loud that Chief Magistrate, Joyann Ferguson Pratt had to ask her to settle down.

The man, Lee Sweeting is charged with the murder of his 76 year old father, Leon Sweeting – the incident happened last Friday morning.

The elder Sweeting was found in his home on Ambergris Street, stabbed to death when neighbours suspected something was wrong when he was not outside doing his usual yard work.

Eventually he was found by a older son, who said he saw blood on the walls and called Police.  Sweeting is described as a gentle, soft spoken, man.  This is a very difficult end to his life for the family.

Lee Sweeting was remanded, but is advised that he can seek bail at the Supreme Court.
