WOMEN IN SPORTS

On May 14th Women in Sports hosted its second mother/daughter walk on the island of Grand Turk. Participants met at 5:30am under the Gazebo and walked briskly to the Governors beach. The cool morning breeze was refreshing and welcoming to the ladies as they were enthused about the walk. Once on the beach they were greeted with fresh fruits and cool hydrated drinks. Mr. Quelch, a Senior Sports officer conducted the warm down stretches. In addition to the excellent health benefits of the walk some participants were the recipients of various gifts. Our oldest mom, Ms. Delores Berry, 63 years of age was the oldest mom who walked, while Bianca Williams received the gift for being the youngest mom. Little Maliah Lightbourne, age 7 was the youngest walker. Janet Williams and Graceann Malcolm captured the gifts for having 3 generations of women in attendance.
