The road infrastructure investment is over 6 million dollars this fiscal year as the PNP Administration takes the stance to correct the pitiable condition of roads and this will mean a radical change at Glass Shack as the Minister announces that a roundabout will be added there.

The Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Planning, Hon. Amanda Missick said in a media statement that: “The Government is providing $6.17 million under its roads infrastructure push across the country.  Building quality infrastructure can change people’s lives, and it can save people’s lives. These projects will also provide significant opportunities for residents to be employed.”

The Glass Shack road project is a big project, pegged $1 million dollars. The expansion and resurfacing of this roadway where there is often severe traffic congestion and deadly car crashes is a redesign for Paradise and Windward roadways.

The Ministry explained too that a roundabout will be constructed at the junction of these roads, plus there will be sidewalks, cycle paths and upgrades to the drainage systems.

Phase one began in February of this year and is expected to be completed by the end of this month.
