Police get wanted man; Magistrate Court back open

Police say they have their man after an arrested of James Smith Jr. Police liaison officer, Kevin Clarke explains James Smith Jr. was wanted for numerous serious offences and was believed to be armed and dangerous. He was captured on Thursday at a home in Blue Hills during the execution of a Search warrant.

Smith was immediately arrested on a Bench Warrant for his appearance in the Supreme Court for another matter.

Magnetic Media also confirmed on Thursday that the Magistrates Court is re-convened after a reported sick out shut down proceedings on cases since Monday.

Media reports were that the hostility was so palatable between at least two staffers and the Chief Justice and Court Administrator, that it forced the closure of the courthouse. Claims are there is disagreement over work assignments and transfers.

Magnetic Media has sought to get some feedback from the Judicial Department, but there was nothing though up to news production time.
